As summer's hues fade into the clouds, the rustling leaves whisper the sound of autumn."The Beginning of Autumn, known as Liqiu, is one of the 24 Solar Terms in the traditional Chinese calendar. It marks the official start of the season.As the plane trees begin to shed their leaves, bidding a gentle farewell to summer, all living things transition from lush vibrancy to ripe maturity.

“云天收夏色，木叶动秋声。”立秋的到来，意味着秋天的正式开场。此时，梧桐树开始落叶，向夏天轻轻作别；而万物，也正从繁茂走向成熟。

The Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei captured the serene charm of autumn mountains in these lines:

"Empty hills, fresh rain has washed the air,

Autumn permeates the evening there.

Bright moonlight peers through the pines,

Clear water flows o’er crystal stones."

唐代诗人王维这样描绘秋日山居之趣：“空山新雨后，天气晚来秋。明月松间照，清泉石上流。”

As for the quiet reverie of an autumn night, Du Mu paints a different scene:

"Silver candlelight chills the painted screen,

A small silk fan swats at fireflies unseen.

Palace steps at night feel as cold as water,

Sitting there, she watches the Cowherd and Weaver."

而若论秋夜幽思之静，杜牧的笔下则是另一番景色：“银烛秋光冷画屏，轻罗小扇扑流萤。天阶夜色凉如水，坐看牵牛织女星。”
