From August 14–17, Beijing’s National Speed Skating Oval, the “Ice Ribbon,” turned into an Olympic-style arena for robots.
The Games include boxing, high jump, and hotel service, among 21 events. Humanoids moved with grace, mini robots danced, and even “Tai Chi masters” faced off against a panel of judges.
They sprinted, they stumbled, but always stood up again. Each fall and restart represents a living symbol of innovation.
Driven by AI, China’s robotics teams are pushing the limits. By 2025, China aims for world-class robot products; by 2027, to rank among the global leaders.
As one 8-year-old spectator put it: “Robots should serve humans, not replace them.”
